Here’s my last thought on the election in Washington State. If it is not obvious, I’m a big fan of Rossi. I love his pro-business outlook and what he did to keep this state from a distasterous California like budget shortfall through crafting of a miracle budget.

As chairman of the Senate Ways and Means Committee, he drove around the state on a trip in which he tried to fashion a consensus of Republicans and Democrats on a budget that didn’t raise taxes and preserved programs for the elderly and developmentally disabled.

As the optomist that I am there is a silver lining in all of this. If Rossi loses we have a Senate candidate to take on Maria Cantwell in 2006 with statewide name recognition. I’d rather have Rossi sitting in the U.S. Senate rather than the Governor’s mansion.

One thing you’ll notice in the tone of pro-Rossi weblogs is that no one is threatening to move to another state or Country. I think I heard a bit of that from Democrats after the Federal election. Nope, its time to stay positive, and keep supporting our candidate with the path he chooses.
