Sorry for the lag in posts as of late, between CES, our home sale and a number of new projects at work I have not been posting much here. You know your blog is out of date when even your wife comes up to you and says, "Hey! Can you please put something new up there!"
So this one is for you Lauri.
There’s been a lot going on. Our home is still under contract to sell. I’ve had a bunch of folks as well contacting me through this blog wanting to come over and see it. Sorry, its under contract right now, but I will contact you if this deal falls apart. Not thinking that it will, but you never know with these things.
On the work front, Jon Udell started last week and it has be amazing to have some new eyes along with ideas into the team. Jon posted his first piece of Channel 9 content today where he interviews Chris Wilson from the Internet Explorer team. (You can subscribe to Jon’s feed on Channel 9, here). Jon is ambidextrous in the content he produces and is able to reach both users and developers, so you will see/hear him on both Channels 9 and 10. Welcome aboard Jon, great to have you on the team.
So what have I been up to while not posting this blog? Well unlike Scoble I have been able to get a handle on my inbox, cleaning up tasks at work and forging ahead. The last two weeks have been probably some of my happiest times ever at work. We are so close to getting a beta of Channel 9 Version 4.0 out the door. It is been a big, big undertaking. (more on that in a later post) I am starting to see the fruits of a lot of big bets that we made as a team when we set out to build our own infracture for the sites we run and man, is it ever rewarding.
On the inbox thing, a highlight today was where I finally made the goal of zero email bounce in my inbox. (a moment in time where you have zero emails in my inbox). It made me wish that had achievements for Outlook like we do on the XBox 360. Can you imagine if when you finally got through to the last email and you received the following popup?

Beyond getting things done in email, the team has been making progress shipping content on our sites, getting the right amount process in place for both our development/content projects and making big plans ofr the future. In the mix of this we’re doing event planning too as next weekend we have our Enthusiast Evangelists coming into town for a weekend summit. So Larry and I have been driving the agenda for that and planning what we hope will be a great time for an all new type of Evangelist at Microsoft.
Ok, that’s enough for this post. I’ll update more later.
