In The New Place

20 Feb

It will be a light posting on my blog this week as I’m taking the week off to get settled in our new home.   There is a much longer post coming up soon on what I did learn through this around contingencies, selling your home in general and what a difference a great real estate agent can make.   This is definitely an industry that needs technology.  The whole process quite complicated and delivered stress at a level I’ve never encountered before.

Would I do it all again?
Let’s just say it is going to be a long, long time before we are ever going to want to move again.

One fun story though was that we found out at the end of deal on our old home that the new family had a little girl who was two.   Once the place was cleaned out on Saturday we left a note in the home and Josie’s electric powered red Corvette that she has outgrown..

Dear ______,

We hope you enjoy your new home, we absolutely loved living here and will miss this place.  The little red Corvette in the garage is a gift from our daughter to yours, enjoy!

It was definitely an emotional experience doing the final walk through of our old home.   I walked through each room and mentally pictured all the memories (some great, some bad) that were made in each room.   The home was our first   and to be totally honest it was more home that I thought I’d ever have in life.  It was hard to go.

Ok with that, it is time to go unpack boxes. :-)   I’m off work all week so if anyone wants to pop by good old Fall City for a visit, give my mobile a ring 425-753-6138.
