I’m on the road this week with my Great-Grand-Boss (at Microsoft that is what we call ones Boss’s Boss’s Boss) or Sanjay. It will be a whirlwind trip taking us from Chicago to Denver to San Diego to Santa Monica then home to Seattle. All beginning with a 6:10 am flight Monday morning.
Nothing beats getting out on the road and meeting with customers and I am really excited to go on this trip. In preparation I’ve been going through our arsenal of demos. My favorite ones walks you through all the roles from Architect, Developer, Tester, Project Management and Operations in 5 minutes. Everytime I work with Team System I am just blown away by what it means to have the integration of all the role products. Having the designers, test coverage, work item tracking and testing functionality all running within one tool is awesome.
You know back a few years ago when we went on the road it wasn’t uncommon for an Evangelist to have 2-3 demo machines with them. Each machine supporting a certain demo. Now a days though with the advent of Virtual PC I can just take one powerful laptop and have multiple configuration in the virtual drives. This is of course makes airport security a little easier when you don’t have to explain why you are toting a data center with you.
Grace on my team recently blogged some tips on how to achieve the best performance with Virtual PC and Team System that will help you make sure you get the most out of your VPCs. Thanks Grace!
