I'm on vacation for the next two weeks. :-) :-) The cool thing about is that we have nothing planned, no trips to distant lands or the typical tourist traps. Its just two weeks at home getting caught up with my wife and daughters.
Today was a fun start as the bunkbeds we ordered for our youngest daughter arrived. I had the pleasure of setting them up while she waited “patiently“ for me to complete the job. Here she is modelling along with the finished product. Watch out Barker Girls I think you've got some serious competion.
Last week folks were asking me, “Where are you going for vacation?” and when I answered with a simple “Nowhere” they seemed quite surprised.
You see since last January I've been working on Channel 9 and its been long hard push. There also has been lots of travel. All really fun and rewarding but I just want to spend some time at home, enjoying life. I don't want to go away for vacation.
Its time to get extra connected with my family, get caught up on some chores and just put work life on pause for awhile. Maybe read some books or enjoy some movies.
We've got Lake Sammamish, Beaver Lake and Pine Lake all minutes away and that is great as I love to do a fair amount of swimming and playing with my dogs.
I am sure we'll do some day trips to the San Juan islands, maybe a two day trip to Cannon Beach, Orgeon but that's about it. I do plan to keep blogging though so you'll get to see what I end up doing.
On the book angle, can someone suggest some good vacation audio books for my iPod?
