Just got this link from a friend Dennis via email. My AirPower Wiki for tracking power outlets in airports just got a brief mention in the New York Times. (Registration Required)
Power on the Fly At the departure gates in the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, there are electrical outlets on the wall at the end of the windows. Unfortunately, they aren’t near the seats, so if you want to plug your laptop in, you’ll have to sit on the floor.
This information comes by way of the AirPower Wiki, a new Web site where users share information on the often-hidden sources of power in airports around the world. As of Thursday, there were about 50 entries, from the outlets at the base of the fire hoses at Spain’s Madrid Barajas Airport to those behind the automatic teller machines at Chicago’s O’Hare International. Nice! The Wiki is really taking shape with outlet locations from around the globe. Thanks everyone for helping out so far.
Postscript: Even cooler than the NY Times is that it made it to Boing Boing, one of my favorite blogs. Guess, I should thank Northwest Airlines for the delay which inspired the Wiki.
